London Short Film Festival (11 to 20 January)

Watch a wide range of workshops, short film screenings, and music events at the London Short Film Festival this January. Celebrating its 16th year, the festival showcases some of the best UK and International independent films ranging from documentaries and dramas to animation films and comedies.

Chinese New Year in London (10 February)

Taking places all across the West End, the celebration of Chinese New Year in London is definitely one of the must-visit events in the city. Expect to find everything from stage performances to family-friendly entertainment and authentic Chinese food. The main stage performances will be held at the Trafalgar Square.

Pancake Day in London (5 March)

Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday as some like to call it falls on Tuesday 5 March in 2019. This traditional feast day attracts large crowds of visitors and offers plenty of crepes and pancakes.  There are also Pancake Day races in London which raise money for charity. Don’t be surprised to see a couple of local celebrities participating in these races.

Virgin Money London Marathon (28 April)

Virgin Money London Marathon sees approximately 40,000 people running the 26.2-mile race through the streets of London. The good news is that the marathon is open to all abilities ranging from professional athletes running for a personal achievement to beginner runners. There are also a bunch of celebrities who have run this Marathon in the last couple of years including Gordon Ramsay, Tim Peake, and Chris Evans.

Museums at Night (May 15-18)

Museums at Night takes place across a wide range of museums and other venues in London. Visitors can discover new exhibitions, engage in free activities, and enjoy live music performances during this amazing event. What’s great about Museums at Night is that you can find events in both major museums and small independent venues.
